Job Description- Lead Interior Designer

The ideal candidate will have excellent creative thinking skills and be able to create designs based on conversations with a client and design/build team. The candidate should be confident in communicating regularly with the client/design team in order to assess needs

and be able to adjust a given approach based on feedback. This candidate knows the design industry, how to create and execute deliverables in residential projects from beginning to end.

Responsibilities

  • Create drawings, schedules and manage deliverables for assigned projects.

  • Collaborate with Principal designer on projects and manage execution on project deliverables.

  • Provide project management to verify that designs are executed efficiently with contractors, sub-contractors and industry partners.

  • Create custom furniture designs and furniture plans.

  • Communicate effectively with client, vendors and team in order to address client's needs

  • Prepare presentations (3D, 2D, mock-ups and renderings) for drawing set submittal to contractors

  • Create Proposals for client purchases in Studio Designer.

  • Maintain industry knowledge in order to stay relevant

  • Direct a small team of designers and assist principal designer in all aspects of design.

  • Travel as required to job-sites, design events and vendor locations.

Latham Interiors is an award winning high-end residential design studio in an enviable mountain environment. Designers will assist project teams and gain experience at different phases of projects by utilizing their skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, or hand sketching to produce working and presentation drawings. In addition, they will assist with research and selection of furniture and finishes.

A Designer will manage construction site visits, in-office vendor presentations, weekly design presentations, and attend weekly studio meetings.

Requirements:

  • Interior Design: 4+ years (Preferred)

  • Full-Time position

  • Strong user of Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Windows-based software solutions.

  • Strong conceptual, communication and organizational skills

  • Extensive knowledge of current furniture, material and building finish products

  • Amazing communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to be assertive and clear with vendors.
